Opening Day!

Opening Day! Blogger: Alisa Ross  Today made everything we have been working for feel so much more real! It was the opening of our show and everyone was anxious to promote our hard work. We started by waking up early to get into hair, makeup, and costume. In the final minutes the living room of our airbnb was FILLED with people reciting their lines and running scenes. Pre-show jitters were there! On the way to our venue, which isn't too far from our airbnb and is right next to the beautiful Royal Mile, we all handed out flyers and found creative ways to introduce and market our show.  We all went into a dressing room and mentally prepared to perform, reminding ourselves why we love theatre and practicing deep breathing. We went backstage and saw our audience slowly fill in. When it was time to go on, doing the show felt like home. Laughs, sweet moments, and our final bows filled the air with pride and gratitude. Some people were a little scared to open it, others were really eager to open it; either way, we spread the message about our amazing show! Also, on the Royal Mile, there were a lot of shops with highland cow plushies that were so adorable! I haven't bought one yet, but I definitely will before we leave.  We als...

Boy Meets Girl. Girl Has a Box That Could Destroy the World. POTOMAC, MD, USA — Myth, comedy, and catastrophe collide in Pandora: A Tragicomic Greek Romp , a fresh, fast-paced retelling of the Pandora myth that asks: What happens when curiosity meets chaos?   Originally a 2011 Capital Fringe Festival hit, Pandora returns in 2025 with a brand-new cast from Potomac, Maryland’s Bullis School for a six-show run at the iconic Edinburgh Festival Fringe —the largest performing arts festival in the world. The production will be staged at Paradise Green (Vault Venue) from August 2–9, 2025 . Written by acclaimed sibling duo Shawn and Ann Fraistat , Pandora unleashes a whirlwind of gods, monsters, love, betrayal, and one dangerously irresistible box. This madcap reimagining is equal parts hilarious and heartfelt, offering a modern take on ancient tragedy that’s as uncomfortably human as it is sharply comedic. “It’s a comedy with teeth,” says director Chelsie King. “We want the audien...
