3rd Show Day & Day Off!

Our 3rd Show Day & Day Off

Blogger: Sebby Schroth & Abe Gold

From Sebby: Our 3rd show day! We woke up knowing it would be a windy and cold day, so we made sure to bundle up before we headed to our venue. However, just before the show, we continued our promotional shenanigans! Eitan dressed in his Demogorgon costume chased us down the street as we yelled for help and for people to come see our show to help save us! Although we got many strange looks, we absolutely believed it helped us get a few more people to our show that day. Following running down the streets, we had another great show, accompanied by an audience member who definitely enjoyed our comedy. We heard laughter coming from him the entire show!

Later in the day, we attended another high school's performance of Too Much Light Makes The Baby Go Blind, which was 30 plays in 60 minutes. The audience was encouraged to yell out numbers that corresponded to a play from a "menu" we were given before the show. Overall, the show was a hilariously entertaining comedy that blended many different Neo-Futurist plays in a very short amount of time. Later that evening, we watched a five-act comedy show advertised 5 headlines for 10 pounds, which gave us a small snippet of 5 different comedians who were all super funny in their own ways! It was a great day overall.

From Abe:  Our fifth day (and our first day off from performing) in Edinburgh was very eventful! We all got a chance to sleep in and rest after three days of shows. In the morning, a few of us went to see Daddy-Daughter at the venue that we are performing in and enjoyed singing along with the show! After all of us were up we went to go see A Murder at Motley, a murder mystery show set in the 16th century in which two Jesters (in motley) are accused of murder and in which the audience decides their fate. In our show, one of the fools was declared guilty (although it seemed to a few of us that there were, in fact, more votes leaning towards not guilty). We enjoyed getting to bond and talk over the show experience.

Right after, and in the same venue, we went to see Always, Sometimes, Maybe, a show inspired by movement and clowning. It follows the story of a janitor named Lou who uses the trash that they find to create art. The show had many heartfelt moments and we loved how charming it was. After the show, we went back to the mile and had lunch and shop around. After that, we went to our third show of the day, I Wish My Life Were Like a Musical. The musical describes the experience of an actor in the musical theater world and what they might experience as they climb their way to stardom. The show had many, many wonderful and hilarious moments and we loved it.

After leaving the venue, getting dinner, and walking back to the mile, it was time for the Royal Military Tattoo. The Military Tattoo represents the Royal Military and its armed forces as well as multiple other armed forces from around the world. This year was extra special because it was the 75th Anniversary of the Military Tattoo. The show included armed forces from the US, UK, Switzerland, Germany, and Ukraine. The Tattoo was truly an amazing experience; filled with an amazing expression of peace, love, and the honoring of the heroes that came before us through music and art. Overall, today was a lot of fun!
